Angelina Jolie Takes a Break From The Tourist

Even though the tabloids have been saying that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are on the rocks (when haven't they?) Brangelina somehow managed to fly down to Bosnia over the weekend.
I guess the nay-sayers will come out with an explanation for that.
As you probably know, Angelina is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations (she has been since 2001), and she has done a lot of work for them.
But now Brad is going with her.
And Angelina actually took a break from the six kids, and working on "The Tourist" (with Johnny Depp) in Venice, Italy to fly down.
Or is it fly over?
Anyway, Brad and Angelina weren't there for the publicity, because they tried to avoid the spotlight as much as possible.
Well as much as a couple that famous can at least.

And in other news, Columbia Pictures released the full theatrical version movie trailer for Angelina's upcoming film "Salt".
And of course Screamingangie1 has it, and you can see it here:

All About Angelina Jolie - Screamingangie1's Channel

I don't know if I have mentioned it before, but there's a channel on YouTube that has as many Angelina Jolie trailers, interviews, behind the scenes clips and pretty much anything else Angelina related you want to see.

It's Screamingangie1's Channel "All About Angelina Jolie" and the channel not only has the latest "Salt" info, but also some info from "The Tourist" as well.

So basically, anything Angelina related in the news is gonna be there.

Like for instance, here are some stills from The Tourist in a nice little five minute video.....

You can see this and more like it at Screamingangie1's Channel here:

Angelina Jolie - The Tourist, Wanted 2 and Serena

You probably noticed that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt missed the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles.
Well they were in Italy were Angelina is shooting her new movie The Tourist (with Johnny Depp), and rather than blast across the globe for the ceremony, Brad and Angelina decided to stay in Italy and take the oldest kids to the director's house (Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck) to celebrate one of his kids' birthdays.
By the way, The Tourist is set to be released on February 16, 2011.

So with Salt in the bag, and The Tourist filming...what's next for Angelina?

For one thing, it looks like Wanted 2 will have to continue on without her because she has passed on that project.
Well not really continue, when Angelina passed on it, that pretty much killed the sequel.
And it was rumored that she would show up in the space-thriller, Gravity directed by Alfonso CuarĂ³n, but it looks like that is a no go as well.

Two projects that are getting some attention are the film adaptation of Ron Rash's novel Serena, about the ambitious wife of a North Carolina timber baron.
The film may be directed by The Wrestler's director, Darren Aronofsky.
Does that mean Angelina will come to NC (my home state) to shoot?
Probably not, they'll probably film it in Vancouver...

Another project is a film adaptation of Patricia Cornwell's Dr. Kay Scarpetta books.
Well not really an adaptation, from what I hear it will be an original story focusing on a younger Scarpetta before the books start.
Did you know that Patricia Cornwell lived in NC for awhile as well?
Hmmmm...

And in tabloid fodder news, in the new book by Jenny Paul, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: The True Story, the author says that Angelina Jolie had an affair with Mick Jagger twice.
The first time was in 1997 when Mick was married to Jerry Hall, and Angelina was married to Jonny Lee Miller.
At that time, Angelina appeared in the Rolling Stones 1997 video “Anybody Seen My Baby.” which you can see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElOXKt0v7-A

And the book goes on to say that they hooked up again in 2003, after Angelina divorced Billy Bob Thornton.

The Actress Angelina Jolie, Part Four

angelina jolie - mr and mrs smithIn 2005, Angelina Jolie only had one movie released, the romantic action comedy film Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
I have to admit though, it was one of my favorites.
Of course her co-star in the film was Brad Pitt, and I thought they showed amazing chemistry.
I wonder if the film was like couples therapy for them?
Anyway, the film was one of the biggest hits of 2005, and earned over $478 million worldwide.

angelina jolie - The Good Shepherd
Her next film was 2006's The Good Shepherd, directed by Robert De Niro.
In this film she co-stared with Matt Damon, William Hurt, Alec Baldwin and Joe Pesci.
This film was nowhere near as successful as Mr. & Mrs. Smith, only pulling in $99.4 million worldwide.

In 2007, Angelina directed her first movie, the documentary A Place in Time.
The movie was screened at the Tribeca Film Festival and distributed through the National Education Association.
It was shown mainly in High Schools, and chronicled life in 27 locations around the globe during a single week.

angelina jolie - A Mighty Heart
Also in 2007, she appeared in A Mighty Heart, directed by Michael Winterbottom.
Again, this film failed to really take off, taking in only a little over $18 million worldwide, although the critics seemed to like it.
The film did get Angelina her fourth Golden Globe Award and a third Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.

angelina jolie - Beowulf
And of course in 2007 she appeared in Robert Zemeckis' "performance capture" fantasy film, Beowulf.
Angelina played Grendel's mother and was digitalized.
Beowulf did much better, pulling in over $196 million dollars worldwide.
The film used a a motion capture process like The Polar Express and Monster House, and was released in IMAX 3D, Real D, Dolby 3D and standard 2D format.

angelina jolie - Wanted
2008 started off with a bang (literally) as Angelina appeared as the assassin "Fox" in Wanted.
The movie itself is a far cry from the comic series it was based on.
The film got pretty much positive reviews from critics and made over $341 million worldwide.
Wanted won the Empire Award for Best Sci-Fi / Superhero Movie of 2008, and was nominated for two Academy Awards, the Critics Choice Award for Best Action Movie, the Saturn Award for Best Fantasy Film, three MTV Movie Awards, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble.
And yes, the sequel is pretty much a go, with Fox being resurrected.

angelina jolie - Kung Fu Panda
And in 2008, Angelina did the voice of Master Tigress in the animated Kung Fu Panda.
Again, the film received positive reviews from critics and pulled in over $600 million worldwide.
On November 9, 2008, it was released on DVD and Blu-Ray.
And like Wanted, there is a sequel planned, Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom.

angelina jolie - Changeling
Staying busy in 2008 (and drastically changing geras) Angelina appeared in Clint Eastwood's drama Changeling which was based on the "Wineville Chicken Coop" kidnapping and murder case.
Changeling made over $113 million worldwide, with most of the money being made overseas.
The film was nominated for three Academy Award and eight BAFTA Awards.

angelina jolie - salt
And now Angelina is working on Salt, an action thriller film directed by Phillip Noyce.
Her co-stars in the film are Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Interestingly, the role was originally written for Tom Cruise, but the script was rewritten for Angelina.
The official release date is set for July 23, 2010.

Angelina Jolie and the Deadly Set Light

angelina photos

While working on the set of her upcoming movie "Salt" Angelina Jolie was injured.
Sounds terrible huh?
She accidentally bumped into a set light.
Doesnt sound that bad huh?
Well she got cut and a slight concussion.
See?
She "bumped" into a light...and "bumped" it hard enough to get a concussion?
How hard did she hit that thing?
Well she came back to work, trooper that she is, and they used makeup to cover the injury.
It was evidently right between the eyes.

And in more Tomb Raider 3 news, it looks like producer Dan Lin is in favor of Megan Fox as the new Lara Croft.
Forget Jennifer Aniston, Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie is the feud I wanna see!

Angelina Jolie And James McAvoy were nominated for "Best Kiss"(for Wanted) at MTV's Movie Awards, but they lost to Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson for Twilight.
There is no justice.

Angelina Jolie and her Lips.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

In the category of "Gosh I'm glad that all the world's problems are fixed so let's devote all our time and research to stupid things" we have a company in the good old US that has developed lip-reading software that can rate lips on a 10-point attractiveness scale.
No it wasn't drunk frat boys.
It was actually a "lipologist" (?) named Dr Kendra Schmid and it's called the Baileys Lip Attractiveness Software.
(I wonder if I can get it as a Firefox add on?)
Anyway, the reason why I've even mentioning it is because of the rankings.
You know how Angelina's lips are supposed to be one of her best qualities?
Not according to scientific (::snicker::) study.
No, the best lips in the world belong to....
Italian actress and fashion model Monica Belluci!
I can see that.
She got a perfect ten.
Next up was....
Scarlett Johansson!
Still no Angelina.
Third place was...
Halle Berry!
Still no Angelina?
Fourth place was....
Beyonce!
Awww c'mon!
Yes Angelina came in a paltry fifth place.

No Angelina / Jennifer Brawl Last Night

actress angelina jolie
No, this is not how Angelina was looking at Jennifer last night.

Well the Angelina Jolie / Jennifer Aniston catfight didn't happen last night.
Not that the Oscar producers didn't try to play up on it.
Jennifer and Jack Black (Angelina's "co-star" in Kung Fu Panda) introduced a segment and Jennifer looked nervous, and they kept cutting to Angelina's face.
Angelina was either smiling gracefully of laughing at Jennifer's nervousness. It's gonna depend on who you ask.
But even though Angelina and Jennifer didn't get into a knock down drag out brawl, Brad and Angelina did snub Ryan Seacrest again!
What has he done to them?
Do they hate E! that much?
Or Ryan?
Or is starting to turn into a running gag?

It was a disappointing night for Brangelina fan's everywhere.
Not only was there no brawl, but the Brad Pitt movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" only won awards for Best Makeup, Best Art Direction and Best Visual Effects.
Okay I say "only"...heck, that's three more than I've ever won!
And Angelina's movie "Changeling" was totally Oscar free.
Even "Kung Fu Panda" lost.

Oh well, there's always next year.

Angelina and Brad Are Everywhere

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are busy running about and promoting Brad's new movie 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'.
They were in Germany recently where Brad's partying seemed to have annoyed Angelina who was basically along for the ride.

Of course since they are overseas, this makes them no-show nominees at the Oscars luncheon, which is kinda bad because not only is Brad nominated, but so is Angelina for lead actress in "Changeling".
But that's okay, big stars like Meryl Streep, and Philip Seymour Hoffman were no shows too.

And since Sarah Palin has gone back to Alaska, SNL needs a new target, and recently on the show they did a spoof of Angelina as a "serial adopter".

And finally "Kung Fu Panda" dominated the Annie Awards with 11 awards. That beat Pixar's "Ratatouille"'s run last year.

Tomb Raider: Angelina Jolie versus Megan Fox?

actress angelina jolie
Wow....I wonder how Angelina's taking this?
Back when Megan Fox first came onto the scene, I heard people referring to her as the next Angelina Jolie.
Now there are rumors floating around that the Lara Croft:Tomb Raider franchise might be revived and that Megan Fox may play the role of the video game hero.
Of course the two previous Tomb raider movies were panned by critics, but they made a lot of money.
The first one grossed $300 million worldwide.
Are we ready for a Angelina Jolie/Megan Fox tabloid war?
And if Angelina focuses her attention on Megan, what's going to become of Jennifer Aniston?
But what if Angelina takes Megan under her wing?
What will the tabloids do then?

Megan Fox

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and the Golden Globes

The Golden Globes were full of Angelina Jolie / Brad Pitt drama.
First, Brangelina dissed Ryan Seacrest.
Yeah, it's not a rumor, they did it.
You can see the video on YouTube where it happened.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=macYSPOl3dM

Then Kate Winslet forgets Angelina's name during her acceptance speech.
"I'm so sorry Anne, Meryl, Kristin - and who's the other one? Angelina. Now forgive me, is this really happening?"
Hey, she was stunned, give her a break.

Lastly, when Anne Hathaway won her award for Best Actress, the camera caught Angelina giving her some kind of laser death stare.
Okay, to be fair, some people say Anne was gushing like a teenager and deserved a real death ray, but hey, that's personal opinion.

Now if something bad happens to Anne Hathaway in the next few weeks I'm gonna do an entry on how Angelina has some kind of dark, evil super powers!

Is Angelina Jolie Even in "Salt"?

You know I read awhile back that Angelina Jolie had pulled out of the movie "Salt".
But I guess like most of the Hollywood rumors, that wasn't true.
It's kind of funny because neither Wikipedia nor IMDb show "Salt" listed for her.
IMDb shows "The Mercenary: Love and Honor" as her next project along with the rumored "Atlas Shrugged".
But evidently she is involved in "Salt" because....

Angelina Jolie Shakes Up 'Salt'
Angelia Jolie has taken over Tom Cruise's role in the spy thriller Edwin A. Salt, and now she's allegedly running roughshod over the Phillip Noyce-directed film.
Jolie has reportedly gotten the name of the flick changed to reflect the new gender of her character not once but twice.
Edwin A. Salt has become Edwina A. Salt has become Evelyn A. Salt. Good choice! Angelina can't play an Edwina! Too derivative of the masculine.
http://www.celebuzz.com/angelina-jolie-shakes-up-salt-s75361/

From looking around the web, "Salt" looks like the "Black Triangle" of movies. All you get is bits of conflicting info.
I guess as always we just have to wait and see.

Clint Eastwood and Angelina Jolie

Well I wouldn't really call this part of the Changeling PR machine. But it did get Angelina and Clint's names in the spotlight a bit more.....

Angelina Sneaks In to Honor Icon Eastwood
The mutual admiration society was in full force Monday night as Angelina Jolie made an unexpected appearance at the 12th Annual Hollywood Film Festival Awards Gala to honor her Changeling director, Clint Eastwood.
"There are some people in this business who are icons, and we often wonder if, when we meet them, they'll live up to what we imagine them to be," Jolie said from the stage upon her surprise arrival.

Angelina Jolie, 'Changeling'

Angelina Jolie's new movie 'Changeling' seems to be getting a lot better reviews than 'Wanted' did.
'Changeling' directed by Clint Eastwood, is a thriller set in the late 1920s in Los Angeles. It's based on the true story of a woman who recognizes that the boy returned to her after a kidnapping is not her son.
You can see more about the movie here:
http://www.changelingmovie.net/

Good reviews for Angelina Jolie in 'Changeling'
by Tom O'Neil
While there were enough naysayers to drag the overall Meta Critic score for "Changeling" down to 65, reviews from the likes of nationally known critics Roger Ebert (Chicago Sun-Times ), Kenneth Turan (Los Angeles Times) and David Ansen (Newsweek) were positively glowing. All of them praised the performance of the Academy Award winning Angelina Jolie as the real-life heroine who battled the L.A. police in 1930 by refusing to accept a mysterious boy as her missing son. And they lauded the direction by four-time Oscar winner Clint Eastwood.

Mack's review of "The Changeling"
by David Eddie
At least in The Changeling, it's a woman looking after the kid-- and not just a woman, it's Angelina Jolie, ladies and gentlemen!-- but it's the 1920s, and things were different back then, so it's not really her fault. She's a single working mom, she works as some sort of telephone operator supervisor, who for some reason roller skates around the office (and that was a scariest part of the movie, watching balloon-lipped stick-insect Angelina Jolie rollerskate around and thinking: "Oh, my God, Angelina, I hope you don't fall, your anorexic bones will crumble like Ryvita!").

Angelina Jolie has bought her seven-year-old son a knife

actress angelina jolie
I can't wait to hear the outcry that this will probably start........

Angelina Jolie has bought her seven-year-old son a knife.

The actress, who adopted son Maddox from Cambodia in 2002, wants him to learn how to defend himself and understand the responsibilities of carrying a weapon.
She said in an interview with W magazine:
"My mom took me to buy my first daggers when I was 11 or 12. And I have already bought Maddox some things. "We take him to a special shop.
We also talk about samurais and the idea about defending someone as good. We talk about everything. "I suppose I just looked at him and loved him and just felt open to it. I suddenly wanted to."

Maybe enrolling the kid in martial arts would be a better start.

Angelina's early years

The daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand, Angelina Jolie was born in Los Angeles, California.
Her ancestry is Slovak, German and French Canadian.
Angelina's god-parents are Jacqueline Bisset and Maximilian Schell.
When her parents were separated in 1976, Angelina nad her brother James Haven were raised by her mother.
Angelina says today that watching movies with her mother was what inspired her to become an actress.
At the age of 11, Angelina enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, where she trained for two years and appeared in several stage productions.
She went to Beverly Hills High School and was often the target of teasing and abuse my her fellow students.
Angelina's mother survived on a modest income, and Jolie often wore second-hand clothes which was looked down upon by the children of some of the area's more affluent families.
As a child she was extremely thin, and for wore glasses and braces which did not help any.
Angelina was also despondent because her early attempts at modeling failed.
At the age of 14, she dropped out of her acting classes and wanted to become a funeral director. At this point she also dyed her hair purple and started wearing all black.
Angelina did eventually return to theater studies and graduated from high school.

Angelina...Early on.....

Angelina made her onscreen debut with her father Jon Voight in the 1982 film "Lookin' to Get Out".
Her actual acting career didn't start till almost a decade later in the B movie "Cyborg 2".
Angelina's first major role was in "Hackers" in 1995.
She went on to star in the critically acclaimed films "George Wallace" (1997) and "Gia" (1998).
Angelina won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Girl, Interrupted" (1999).
But even with an Oscar, she really didn't hit superstar status until her role as Lara Croft in "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" (2001).
That film established her as one of the best-known and highest-paid actresses in Hollywood.
Angelina's biggest commercial success came with the action-comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), in which she co-starred with her significant other, Brad Pitt.
