Angelina Jolie, Tila Tequila, Haiti and News of the World

Wow....Tila Tequila thinks Angelina Jolie is copying her.
Yes, the former MTV reality show star said "Oh so now Angelina Jolie is trying to adopt a baby from Haiti! Ha! Copying me much?? I used to like her, but having that many kids is abuse!"

Well Angelina did go to Haiti, she is after all a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
She and Brad Pitt have donated one million dollars to Doctors without Borders for their emergency medical operations in Haiti.
And when Angelina was in Haiti, she met with Edmond Mulet, acting U.N. Special Representative for Haiti and senior U.N. staff at their headquarters.
She also met with Haitians doing quake debris cleanup and she spent the night in a Brazilian military camp outside Port-au-Prince.

Brad has been quoted as saying that Angelina is "always open to children around the world," but she will not be adopting a kid from the earthquake-devastated country any time soon.

And Angelina told CNN that "For somebody who is an adoptive parent, I understand the urge to assist in that way. But now is not the time, an emergency is not the time for new adoptions in any way."

Maybe we should get Tila a RSS news feed so she can keep up with all this.

And in other news, Brad and Angelina are firing back at the British tabloid, News of the World, for the story they ran last month that alleged the couple were working out details of a split.
I guess they finally had enough of the rumor, so they have decided to sue News of the World.
As I have pointed out here before, it seems about every six months the tabloids run their "Brad and Angelina Are Breaking Up" story with a little variation each time.
Maybe a few lawsuits will stifle that noise.

Brad is one of the handsomest men in the world and Angelina is one of the most beautiful women so I guess that makes them targets.
But c'mon people, Angelina and Brad have done way more to help the world's children than a lot (maybe 95%) of the stars out there.
Sure they may have problems, who doesn't?
So the next time you see a tabloid article screaming some lurid details about their life, think about all the good they have done.
I hate to go all Biblical here, but read Matthew 7:15-20.
"By their fruit you will recognize them."

By the way, just for fun, I did an Angelina Jolie Versus Megan Fox Hub over at Hub Pages.
Guess who's in the lead....?

Angelina Jolie News: Iraq, McDonalds and Wanted 2

Angelina Jolie Wanted 2

Lots of Angelina Jolie news today so.....

Angelina made her third trip to Iraq last Thursday show her support for Iraqis affected by war.
Why three trips?
Well you have to remember that besides beign an actress, Angelina is also a U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador.
Angelina first visited Iraq in 2007, then again in Februray 2009, and then again last Thursday.
On Thursday she toured a makeshift settlement on the outskirts of Baghdad on Thursday, where 20,000 Iraqis live.

And in other news, Angelina and Brad hit a McDonalds drive thru over the weekend.
Yep, thats actually being reported as news.
Details: Brad was driving, Angie rode shotgun and all the kids ( Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and the twins, Knox and Vivienne) were in the back.
No word on what they ordered.

And speaking of Knox and Vivienne, they turned 1 on July 12th.
Yes it's really been a little over a year since they were born.

And it looks like there will be a "Wanted 2" and that James McAvoy (Wesley Gibson) and Angelina (Fox) will both be in it.
But Fox died in the first one.
Ahhhh...but in movie sequels (like comic books and Wanted was loosely based on a comic book) people rarely stay dead.
At the San Diego Comic Con, director Timur Bekmambetov said that even though Fox was seriously wounded (yep) she was put in the "wax bath" from the first movie.
Can that heal her?
If Angelina Jolie signs on, trust me, they will find a way to get Fox back up and running.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Mr and Mrs Smith 2?

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Mr and Mrs Smith

There's a rumor floating around that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt want to make a sequel to their hit movie "Mr and Mrs Smith".
I say rumor because the only place I could find any info about it was the National Enquirer.
At least it didn't say Angelina and Brad were looking at an apartment on the Moon.
You may recall they met and fell in love on the set while they were filming back in 2005.
Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston at the time.

Allegedly the sequel will have the couple....with kids.
Kids?
Mr and Mrs Smith with children?
Are we getting into Disney territory here?

I really liked the original.
And it grossed over $458 million world wide so it did pretty well.
Except in Colombia where they got a tad upset about the movie.
There was even talk of a spin off TV series.
Though not with Angelina and Brad.

Angelina Jolie to quit acting?

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I asked in the last entry how Angelina was supposed to keep up with all the kids, plus maintain her acting career.
I guess this news article I found explains that.
It seems Angelina has already planned all that out.

Angelina Jolie plans to quit acting
Angelina Jolie has revealed plans to bow out of acting to concentrate on raising her family.
The 33-year-old star has a brood of six children with Brad Pitt, including four-month-old twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, a daughter named Shiloh and adopted siblings Maddox, Zahara and Pax.
She was interviewed by the BBC while promoting her new film, Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood.
Asked in the interview whether she thought the possibility of her looks fading could affect a lengthy career, Jolie said: "I don't think about it much because I don't plan to keep acting very long."
Laughing, she continued: "I'm ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day. So I'm not so worried that I want to keep this pace up and try to be something and be a celebrity and be a successful actress forever.

Angelina Jolie's Nintendo Wii workout

Okay, now everybody can quit wondering!
Angelina lost all that weight from childbirth by doing.....Nintendo Wii???
Ummm....okay...I can see the commercial now....

Angelina Jolie's Nintendo workout
Angelina Jolie has been using her children's video games to lose weight.
The 33-year-old actress - who raises six kids with partner Brad Pitt - has been burning off her post-pregnancy pounds with a Nintendo Wii console, which requires players to use their body to control their games' characters.
A source said: "Angelina's kids were convincing her that video games were more than just fun. They explained to her you can do anything from practice math to learn to read music and exercise."
Wanted star Angelina - who gave birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline in July - is said to be particularly taken with the 'Let's Pilates!' game.
The source added to America's OK! magazine: "She tries to get in an hour of Pilates three times a week. She's picking it up pretty quickly and is already at the hardest setting!"

Angelina Jolie set to play Catwoman

Angelina Jolie is reportedly being lined up to star as Batman's nemesis Catwoman in a new movie.
The 33-year-old actress – who gave birth to twins Knox and Vivienne earlier this month – is said to be in final negotiations with studio bosses to play the feline villain who first appeared in the Batman comics.
It is not clear whether she would play the role in the current Batman film series, starring Christian Bale as the caped crusader, or in a spin-off film as Halle Berry did in 2004's Catwoman.

Angelina Jolie's Career begins to take off.....

Angelina's career prospects began to improve after her performance as Cornelia Wallace in the 1997 biopic George Wallace for which she won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Emmy. The film was highly praised by critics and, among other awards, received the Golden Globe for Best Miniseries/Motion Picture made for TV. She played the second wife of the segregationist Governor of Alabama who was shot and paralyzed while running for President. The film starred Gary Sinise and was directed by John Frankenheimer.

In 1998, Jolie starred in HBO's Gia as supermodel Gia Carangi. The film depicted a world of sex, drugs and emotional drama, and chronicled the destruction of Carangi's life and career as a result of her drug addiction, and her decline and death from AIDS. Vanessa Vance from Reel.com noted, "Angelina Jolie gained wide recognition for her role as the titular Gia, and it's easy to see why. Jolie is fierce in her portrayal — filling the part with nerve, charm, and desperation — and her role in this film is quite possibly the most beautiful train wreck ever filmed." For the second consecutive year, Angelina won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Emmy. She also won her first Screen Actors Guild Award. In accordance with Lee Strasberg's method acting Jolie reportedly preferred to stay in character in between scenes during many of her early films, and as a result had gained a reputation for being difficult to deal with. While shooting Gia, she told her then-husband Jonny Lee Miller that she wouldn't be able to phone him. "I'd tell him: 'I'm alone; I'm dying; I'm gay; I'm not going to see you for weeks."

Following Gia, Jolie moved to New York and stopped acting for a short period of time, because she felt that she had "nothing else to give". She enrolled at New York University to study filmmaking and attended writing classes. She described it as "just good for me to collect myself" on Inside the Actors Studio.

More early fims......

Angelina appeared as Gina Malacici in the 1996 comedy Love Is All There Is, a modern-day adaptation of Romeo and Juliet set among two rival Italian family restaurant owners in the Bronx, New York. In the road movie Mojave Moon she was a youngster, named Eleanor Rigby, who falls for Danny Aiello, while he takes a shine to her mother, Anne Archer. In 1996, she also played Margret "Legs" Sadovsky, one of five teenage girls who form an unlikely bond in the film Foxfire after they beat up a teacher who has sexually harassed them. The Los Angeles Times wrote about Jolie's performance, "It took a lot of hogwash to develop this character, but Jolie, Jon Voight's knockout daughter, has the presence to overcome the stereotype. Though the story is narrated by Maddy, Legs is the subject and the catalyst."

In 1997, Jolie starred with David Duchovny in the thriller Playing God, a film portraying a surgeon who is stripped of his medical license and is lured deep into the criminal world where he meets Jolie’s character, Claire. The movie was not received well by critics and Roger Ebert noted that "Angelina Jolie finds a certain warmth in a kind of role that is usually hard and aggressive; she seems too nice to be a criminal's girlfriend, and maybe she is." She then appeared in the TV movie True Women, a historical romantic drama set in the West, and based on the book by Janice Woods Windle. That year she also played a stripper in the Rolling Stones music video for the song "Anybody Seen My Baby?"

Angelina and Jon Voight

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Jolie has been long estranged from her father, though a reconciliation was attempted, and he appeared with her in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. In July 2002, Jolie filed a request to legally change her name to "Angelina Jolie", dropping Voight as her surname; the name change was made official on September 12, 2002. In August of the same year, Jon Voight claimed that his daughter had "serious emotional problems" on Access Hollywood. Jolie later indicated that she no longer wished to pursue a relationship with her father, and said, "My father and I don't speak. I don't hold any anger toward him. I don't believe that somebody's family becomes their blood. Because my son's adopted, and families are earned." She stated that she did not want to publicize her reasons for her estrangement from her father, but because she had adopted her son, she did not think it was healthy for her to associate with Voight.
